PPM National Conference of Management Research 2012  “Potential Local Competitive Advantages : Indonesia’s Assets in Facing Global Competition”

The globalization processes, such as development of technology, communication, and transportation,  and shifting of global chain of values have brought a new perception on an unlimited world and global village as proposed by Kenichi Ohmae (1990). In the Global Village, the mechanism of world trade at present is described as a market in a village. This world, which is felt smaller, will trigger a competition that will lead to expansion in global marketing activities. In the global competition, the circulating products are those with competitiveness and competitive advantages. Can Indonesian local products compete with other products in global competition?  This national conference will present researches on local potential competitive advantages, which are deemed capable of exploring Indonesia’s assets in facing global competition.
